Maharashtra Govt plans to conduct CET for MBA/MMS Admissions, replacing CMAT

Maharashtra Govt plans to conduct CET for MBA/MMS Admissions, replacing CMAT

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra is on the move to conduct its own Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions to MBA/MMS in state colleges from the academic session 2014 – 2015, said an official notice on its website.
For the current academic session, i. e., 2013 – 2014, the Maharashtra Govt did no conduct CET for MBA/MMS admissions and took admissions through CMAT, which is conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), but sadly, the sate recorded a 50 per cent decline in MBA admissions.
The MAH - MBA/ MMS - CET was last conducted in 2012, and in the year 2013 it was replaced by CMAT.
The decision of going back to CET is taken by the state on ground of receiving complaints from Management Colleges in Maharashtra about the awareness of CMAT among students. They stated that the entire process for CMAT is done online, and the students in rural areas are hesitant about the online process and exams that led to sharp decline in the number of applicants this year.
In 2013-14, around 20,000 students applied for MBA/ MMS courses, which was less than 50 per cent compared to the last year's 42,490 applicants.
The Director in Charge of DTE Dr. Subhash Mahajan, revealed that in coming session, 20% seats will be under management, the 15% all-India quota seats would be filled by colleges using scores of CMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT and ATMA or any other national-level MBA entrance exams, and the remaining 65% seats would fall under the state quota which would be filled using the MH-CET scores.
The decision on the admission process for next year has not been taken yet as this year. For this year, the DTE did not conduct group discussions and personal interviews.
Further details regarding the MBA/MMS admissions 2014-15 through CET shall be made available on the DTE’s website soon.

CBSE Class 10th Hindi Question Papers

CBSE Class 10th Hindi Question Papers

The pattern in which the question papers are being set for a particular subject is quite different from the manner in which the course structure is defined actually. Though the course curriculum is predefined, there are certainly some gaps between the question paper formed and the content of the course. Henceforth, students need to identify these gaps and catch up where the textbooks left off, if they want to get acquainted with the examination pattern. And, they can do it easily by checking out the questions individually subject-wise. This not only helps them prepare for exams in a better manner but also leads them to the depth which the topic should be studied with.
